A bit about zziwa
A few years into his salon career, things were not quite going the way Zziwa had envisioned so he flew to China. That’s where he had the opportunity to work with world-class salons like Majesty. When Zziwa came home in 2016, he couldn’t help but notice the things that could be better about Uganda’s beauty industry to offer our customers quality upbeat hair styles and even better salon experiences. That was the birth of HairbyZziwa & Zziwa Hair studio.
“The real fun bit about this story is that while In China, Zziwa attracted a huge clientele including; NBA player, Dwight Howard, Vice President of Sierra Leone Victor Bockarie Foh, Beijing’s MVP, Stephen Marbury, musicians, socialites and diplomats. And, the artist that painted President Barack Obama sitting in a chair, Kehinde Wiley.
In 2020, HairbyZziwa also created Zziwa Hair Care & Zziwa Hair Academy (ZHA) to skill youths who want to start careers in the beauty industry. The Academy offers dynamic and high quality hairdressing training, but more importantly employable skills and salon management.
